I went to Murree, Pakistan with my family. We booked a house (Spring Lodges) and stayed there for five days.
Day 1; Wednesday, 17th October 2018:
We woke up at 4 am and had tea, biscuits, and sandwiches. At 6, my (maternal) uncle came over had breakfast. Then we set off. We stopped at one or two places before Bhera, which is the city at the exact middle between Lahore and Islamabad. We stopped at Bhera, Mcdonald’s for lunch. We stopped at one or two places again before Rawalpindi, from where we picked my (maternal) aunt, she’d also made an amazing marble cake with chicken and potato cutlets. After that, we started off on the hour’s drive to Murree. My uncle took us uphill on a steep road. It was fun. The air was fresh without the city-air dust and the house we’d booked was really pretty and spacious. We ate samosas for lunch there, (the food at Mcdonald’s had actually been breakfast) and we had biryani with raita for dinner.
Day 2; Thursday, 18th October 2018:
We woke up early and ate flatbread made of white flour with an omelet. After breakfast, we went to a bridge in Kohala, where there’s a stream that joins the Jhelum river. We sat in the stream, there were lots and lots of charpa set out all along the stream. I collected 73 rocks/pebbles, though I gave 3 to my sister. My parents, aunt, and uncle ate chicken fritters with tea. We sat for half an hour or so and then we went home when it started to get rushy. We also bought walnuts.
When we got back home, we had chicken korma with raita and flatbread. In the evening we played monopoly. For dinner, we had aloo palak.
Day 3; 19th October 2018:
I and my sister had french toast for breakfast (white flour made our stomachs upset), the adults had flatbread and omelet. After breakfast we went to mall road on foot, it wasn’t so far. We bought shawls, keychains with our names engraved in them, Handmade notebook keychains, bracelets, etc.
When we got home, I played monopoly with my aunt and sister.
Day 4; 20th October 2018:
We had a Bar.B.Q at 3 pm. It was amazing, the mountains and fluffy clouds, the cold, fresh air and warm, juicy, delicious food (we didn’t have to cook the food ourselves). We took a lot of photos.
Day 5; 21st October 2018:
We got up at 6 am and had breakfast, then we packed up and hit the road. We dropped my aunt at her house in Rawalpindi and set off again. Again, we stopped at Mcdonald’s, Bhera. It was afternoon, so we had lunch. I and my sister slept for 2 hours in our car (without realizing), when we woke up we’d nearly reached Lahore.
We had fun in Murree, away from the city air and the noise of traffic. It was a nice experience.
